Jimmy D & The Jury to Perform at Oswego’s Farmers Market
The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Oswego Farmers’ Market, celebrating over 50 years as Oswego’s Community Block Party, continues on Thursday, July 3rd from 5-9pm in downtown Oswego on West First St., between Bridge and Oneida Streets.
Jimmy D and the Jury will provide the musical entertainment at this week’s Farmers’ Market. Known for their enthusiastic performances of vintage ‘50s, ‘60s & 70s classic rock and roll hits Jimmy D and The Jury’s stage energy and infectious performance has something for everyone. Whether you enjoy sitting back and listening or getting up and dancing the night away, you won’t want to miss Jimmy D and The Jury at the Oswego Farmers’ Market on Thursday, July 3rd.
This year’s Farmers’ Market hosts over 50 vendors offering a great selection of fresh produce, home made baked goods and delicacies, honey, maple syrup, and plenty of arts and crafts along with other crowd favorites such as fresh squeezed lemonade, fried dough, Italian sausages and more.
“Each week we are adding new vendors and items to our market, such as sundresses, cord wood, and dried herbs. Join our weekly community block party and catch up on the latest news from all your friends and see what’s new at the Oswego Farmers’ Market every Thursday night.”
Market goers will also have the opportunity to help grow the Central New York Great Pumpkin Festival by purchasing 50 / 50 raffle tickets. Tickets will be available at the Chamber booth each week of the market. The winning ticket will be drawn during the Pumpkin Festival at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 5th in Washington Square Park. You need not be present to win.
While the Farmers’ Market is fun for the whole family, the Chamber would like to remind everyone that for the safety of the pet, as well as the general public, animals are prohibited from the market.

Syracuse Symphony Orchestra to Perform at Old Fort Ontario
The magnificent sounds of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra will fill the air during a special free holiday performance scheduled for Sunday, July 6th at historic Old Fort Ontario in Oswego.
The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of renowned conductor, Daniel Hege, will continue the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Independence Day Celebration in grand style with a stunning live performing beginning at 8:00pm at Old Fort Ontario in Oswego.
For their Independence Celebration performance at Fort Ontario the Syracuse Symphony will perform a program of popular and patriotic music featuring American favorites by Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, John Phillip Sousa and more!
Made possible through the efforts of Assemblyman Will Barclay, in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation - Central Region, this breathtaking performance by the Syracuse Symphony is free and open to the public.
“Having the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra perform in Oswego will be a great cultural and community event for our area residents,” said Assemblyman Barclay. “I am happy to be able to assist in bringing this experience to Oswego.”
“This free concert by the Syracuse Symphony will be a real treat for the whole family,” said Jennifer Hill, Executive Director of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage families to pack a picnic basket, bring a blanket and enjoy an evening of great music.”
The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra will perform a special Holiday Concert on Sunday, July 6th at Old Fort Ontario in Oswego. This free concert is made possible thru a joint effort between Assemblyman Will Barclay, the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation - Central Region and the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. Music starts at 8:00pm.
Novelis Supports Project Bloom with Park Sponsorship
Workers from Novelis in Oswego once again prepared and planted the beautiful flowerbed located on Rt. 481 at the entrance to the city of Oswego. Novelis has been a proud strong supporter of Project Bloom and has been sponsored the flowerbed at this location since its construction in May of 1996.
The first flowers to appear each year are the tulips, which give way to summer flowers around Memorial Day. Novelis Central Maintenance personnel work on the flowerbed in the spring and fall while student volunteers from the Project Bloom Committee maintain the flowers during the summer months. This Project Bloom flowerbed is similar to other flowerbeds located at the main entrance to the Novelis plant and at various locations on the plant grounds.

Kimo Cortini & Steve Watson to Perform at Tunes In June
Oswego, NY – Tunes In June continues Wednesday, June 18th with the sounds of Kimo Cortini and Steve Watson.
Brought to you by the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the City of Fulton, the Tunes in June music series is held each Wednesday at the Gazebo in downtown Fulton. Tunes In June provides the Fulton community with an opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch along the river while listening to the music of the Cortini Brothers and Friends.
Each week from 12 Noon to 2pm a featured restaurant will be on site at the Gazebo offering a choice of two lunch specials. This week The Blue Moon Grill will offer the lunch specials as Kimo Cortini and Steve Watson provide the music. Decorations from Design Accents add a festive atmosphere and makes Tunes in June the place to be for lunch.
The Tunes In June series will conclude on June 25th with Tavern On The Lock serving as the featured restaurant and Rick Bush joining Kimo Cortini for the final musical performance.

Chamber Golf Spectacular to Tee Off June 16th
Oswego, NY - Members of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce’s Golf Committee are busy finalizing the details for one of the Chamber’s most popular events, the annual All-Inclusive Golf Spectacular.
Scheduled for Monday, June 16th the 2008 Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce All-Inclusive Golf Spectacular will feature a captain and crew format and tee off at 9:00 am at the beautiful Oswego Country Club, Route 48 in Oswego.
Last year more than 100 members hit the links to enjoy a full day of fun and golf with their fellow members. The 2008 Chamber All-Inclusive Golf Spectacular features a number of contests including, chipping, putting, and hole-in-one. There will also be prizes for longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pin, and of course the spectacular skins game!
Major sponsors for the Chamber’s Golf Spectacular are Alliance Bank, Constellation Energy, Fulton Savings Bank, Great Lakes Veneer, and Pathfinder Bank.
